“When I was homeless at Christmas time, that was probably the worst part of it.”
Six years ago, Roz was homeless, pregnant with her daughter and living in a tent. When Ashlea was born, Roz visited her local children’s centre. With Action for Children’s support she was able to get back onto her feet.
“I was made to live in a tent because I had no other options. I mean, I didn’t have any money so it’s not like I could pop off to the coffee shop to wile away the hours. You kind of became a non-entity for a while.”
By becoming a Secret Santa, you can help families to look forward to Christmas time rather than feel invisible. They won’t know who it was that made sure they were warm and safe, but you’ll know you’ve made their Christmas that little bit brighter.
